Julie Taylor is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist whose ministry of the heart finds joyful expression at Pullman Memorial Universalist Church, where she has been welcomed into the pulpit since 2022. Her service to Pullman uplifts her spirit and deepens her connection to the wider UU community.
A member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo, Julie supports worship as a worship associate, occasionally offering sermons that weave together reflection, humor, and a call to spiritual growth. Since discovering Unitarian Universalism in 1994 at the UU Church of Hamburg, she has embraced every opportunity to serve—from teaching religious education to sitting on the Nominating Committee, Personnel Committee, and Board of Trustees.
Julie’s current passion is sharing messages that inspire and sustain Unitarian Universalists in living their faith out loud. She lives in North Buffalo with her husband, three children, and more grandcats than she’d like to admit.

When he was only 11 years old, at a Presbyterian Church in Connecticut in 1965, Jim heard the first-hand report of a Yale Divinity School seminary intern about participating in a march for civil rights in Selma, Alabama. The march, led by Dr, King, was held in response to a previous march that had been crushed by brutal police action. Four people died supporting these marches, including Unitarian pastor James Reeb. If the UU's honor saints, he is certainly one of them! Jim is honored to preach at Pullman from time to time to celebrate his memory and commitment!
Rev. Jim Renfrew is an ordained pastor of the Presbyterian Church (USA). He has been retired since 2022, but stays active in ministry as a substitute preacher in many area churches. Over the course of his ministry he served Grace Presbyterian Church and Christ Presbyterian Church in Rochester, Stone Church Presbyterian Church in Bergen and the First Presbyterian Church of Byron. In 2015 he was elected Moderator of the Presbytery of Genesee Valley, a regional body of approximately sixty congregations. Jim graduated from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York with a Master of Divinity degree. Prior to that he served for two years as a Coordinator of the Rochester Peace and Justice Education Center and on the staff of the Syracuse Peace Council. He graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY, and from Severna Park High School in Severna Park, MD. Throughout his ministry Jim has focused on the transformation of struggling and dying congregations, as he was trained to do at Union Seminary, but also with a strong emphasis on issues of poverty and social justice. In recent years, Jim has served on the Board of Directors of Alianza Agricola, a farmworker-led advocacy group in western New York. In 2021 he received the George Steigler Award from Rural and Migrant Ministry for his work as a farmworker ally.
Jim and his spouse Robin Dunnington live in the Orleans County town of Clarendon. Robin is a UU in background, and helps keep Jim's theology more balanced! Their son and daughter-in-law live in Rochester, along with four grandchildren, 16, 13, 7 and 5 years old. Since retirement Jim and Robin have enjoyed travel to Europe and South America. Jim plays violin and mandolin and is part of the "Buskers", a weekly jam group in Brockport. He usually brings music to every church where he preaches, including Pullman.
